While the apples still cook and the canning pot is getting to a boil, prepare the other items - blender, etc that you will use to puree the apples. Prepare the jar lids. The jars should be sterilized and hot, so run them through the dishwasher ahead of time. I usually just keep them in the still warm dishwasher and pull out one jar at a time when they are ready to fill.
